Buddy
has worked sheep goats and poultry. At this young age he
has best control over the chickens. The goats are very flighty
and he is able to move them easily. The sheep at this part of
the year (late summer) are seasoned ewes who don’t take anything
from an unseasoned dog. Therefore he has the most problems with
the ewes, however with my help and encouragement we are able to
generally move the ewes successfully. He never grips and seldom
barks at the livestock rather Buddy uses dominant posture
and shouldering for control. He prefers to drive the stock
away form his master.
Buddy loves children, watches his master's back,
keeping ill tempered or eager livestock away. He returns
escapees to their proper pasture.
He chases off strange dogs and
knows the limits of his territory.
Buddy is biddable and will not quit on the job. He will hunt and kill rodents
and is a willing fighter when faced with larger than normal or
vicious prey.
He is protective of his territory and does not
allow strangers out of the car until he is told it is OK.
Sounds like a nice confident, eager to please dog... PGRN
