Emma
has worked sheep goats and poultry.
She only works when humans are present and she runs right up to
the stock and barks to make them move. We had cattle until
recently and she worked better on them as she is a little
tougher on the livestock. She works livestock only with me by
her side. She will not leave me and go into a pen and work on
her own.
Emma grips on the heel hock or neck when moving
ewes that straggle or are slow in her opinion, and prefers to
drive stock away from her master. She does not like to
have even our other dogs near the livestock or me or the
grandkids.
This dog, even while still a pup in the
whelping box broke up fights by the other pups and yapped
at them.
Emma barks treed and will stand on the side of the tree barking
for some time. She is a very avid hunter and fearless
in the face of large of vicious prey.
A moderately energetic dog, Emma is eager to
please but easily discouraged by correction. She is not
aggressive toward strangers.
A very classic, bonded "rule dog" PRGN...
