Paw Paw is a great guardian. She grooms the baby livestock
and prefers to watch over them than go in the house at night.
If a threatening predator enters the territory, she will chase
it off and then celebrate her accomplishment. She patrols
the perimeter and does not leave home. Paw Paw is a
sufficient herder, using dominance behaviors and shouldering to
move the stock in the right direction. She will bark often
to keep them moving. Paw Paw treed a opossum family
that was out to raid the henhouse. She will seek out
vermin and eliminate them. She is friendly with dogs who
have been properly introduced. She announces the arrival
of strangers and is particularly good with children.
