Trooper's farm includes goats, hogs, cattle, and chickens. He is a herding ace, but content will not harass the stock when off-duty. He sometimes nips cattle on the heel, hock or nose and he varies his intensity to fit the stock that he is working. Trooper uses "eye" to control livestock and uses dominance behaviors to accomplish his goal. He often barks when herding and he herds unsupervised when an emergency situation arises. He is wonderful with children and loves to lay and watch the foals play. Trooper chases away predatory birds, stays home to patrol his territory and watch over his charges. He has cornered prey and waited for assistance from his master. He is a moderately soft dog and loves his people. He is an incredibly intelligent dog that understands the work that is needed with little guidance from his master. |
