    Smudge shows great guardian nature and rules orientation. 

She lacks prey drive but this does not inhibit her capacity as a herder.  She commands the respect of the beef and dairy cattle that she lives with.  She is alert to escapees and returns them to their proper pen.  She does not grip at all but uses dominance postures and seldom barks.  Smudge loves the babies and the mothers generally allow Smudge to lick and nuzzle them.  Smudge is very loving and capable with people and stock.
