Bailey is a very loving, intelligent companion. She is a
cross between extreme guardian nature collie crosses and an extreme
prey drive herding and hunting English shepherd. The result is a
beautiful balance of traits. She is very intune with her
master and will let her opinion be known but will always respect
her master's wishes. She has worked with a trainer on a
few occasions and has visited the farm that she was born on.
Bailey has proven that she is capable of moving stock. She
works silently and has a loose-eyed upright stance. She
displays natural rating ability and a desire to keep the stock
calm, which point toward a guardian nature. As she is not
on a farm, Bailey has had limited opportunity to display her
guardian nature as it pertains to stock. When she visited
a goat farm, she was very curious and gentle with the kids.
She is also quite gentle and protective of children.
Bailey has been trained not to kill squirrels and birds, but she
is not forbidden to give chase. Bailey's rule is that
birds and squirrels belong in the trees! She is very
judgmental about people. If she likes you, she will
exuberantly greet you. If she doesn't know you, she is
reserved. And if she doesn't like you, she won't give you
the time of day. She gets along well with other dogs. |
