Lassie knows her job and gets right to it. She mostly ignores
the poultry but works the goats effortlessly. She will
grip on
the heel or hock, if she sees another dog do it, but mostly she
uses her body positioning in a very upright manner to control
the goats. She has no preference in driving or gathering.
Lassie shows gentle protective behavior toward the baby goats
and eliminates coyotes and other predators from the territory.
Lassie hunts and kills pests and will stand on
the tree when barking treed.
She
is gentle and loving with the babies and the children, and does
not show aggression toward strangers.
I'm
wondering who she is, and I'd love to hear some stories about
her. She sounds a bit older, too.
