Ginny is a moderately active dog who suits her style to the animals being moved.  She will use what force is necessary – gripping, dominant stare, running up – to move cattle, horses, and sheep.  She is fearless with cattle and horses, and can break up a fight between bulls.  Stock are intensely aware of her.  She prefers to drive stock away from the handler.  She is bossy, and demands obedience from both the stock and other dogs.
With baby livestock and children, she is a true guardian – she is gentle and protective, and will defend children from stock and from human intruders.  She is a territorial guardian who will patrol the farm at night and chase predators away.  She is quick to learn new commands, and a good hunter; she will chase larger prey away rather than fight with them.  She is a good scent tracker and is helpful finding game.
