Bear has strong protective instincts for his family and territory.  He patrols the homestead and announces the arrival of strangers.  He is gentle and protective of children and baby livestock, and is watchful of his master’s back.  His herding experience is limited, but he has shown marked aptitude when given the chance.

He hunts and trees or kills pests, working mostly by sight.  He is very active, doesn’t rest for long.  He has a strong bond with his owner and is primarily oriented towards humans.  Bear is standoffish with strange dogs and distrusts strange people until properly introduced.  He is quick to learn and listens to direction from his master.
