Gillie does a great job of watching over our property – she frequently lays on a little knoll towards the back of the property, where she can watch over the length of the pastures.  She is always on the alert for anything that might be a danger to the livestock.  She has caught and killed mice, rats, possums, and raccoons.  She is protective of the animals within her care.

She announces the arrival of strangers to the property and wants one of her people to introduce them before she will allow them to touch her.  She can be challenging to other dogs who come onto the property, but has done a very good job of raising MacDuff and MacKenzie, her two adopted sons.
