Cait is a devoted farm hand who has worked goats, sheep and ducks on both her owner’s and a friend’s farms. She prefers to work the gather, mostly using dominant posture to position her charges, but is also willing to give light nips to the hip when more force is needed.  She works well under direction, but is intuitive enough to perform several of her herding duties without much guidance from her owner.

She’s attentive to her livestock, mingling with them and mothering babies when not actively herding.  However, she will not allow stock to crowd or threaten her owner.  She patrols her property often, announcing the arrival of visitors and strange dogs. Despite her diligence, she settles down for the night once her work is done.

Cait loves to hunt mice in the barn and trials in barn hunting events, but she chases off larger prey like deer, raccoons and rabbits.  Once unwanted animals have been sent packing, she affirms they have truly left the property using tracking skills.
