Jewel has worked dairy goats peacocks ducks chickens and turkeys! She is best with goats – can sometimes be a little intense with the poultry. Although Jewel will crouch when she is told “round them up”! She uses a dominant stare and upright posture when herding.
She always barks when herding and always returns escapees to their proper pen. She shows great affection with baby livestock but the adults respect her immensely. She routinely kills rodents and pests and will stand on the tree to bark treed!
She cares for the livestock and keeps intruders out of her territory. Opinionated but trainable, she is quick to learn commands.
Jewel gets along well with other dogs and shows aggression toward strangers.
